The latter two seem to help the most. People who might not be able to remember a >8 char password can remember a nonsense babble password.

I don't remember who invented the term. but "shocking nonsense" rings a bell i.e. something that is, ahem, rude, but which is likely to be remembered (and not written down!) and which would be largely unguessable.
